ALEX 755 nm WAVELENGTH
For the broadest range of hair types and colours. The wavelength of 755 nm offers high energy absorption in melanin and is the ideal solution for many hair types and colours, especially for lighter and fine hair. Due to the lower penetration depth, this wavelength is particularly suitable for non-deep-lying hair, for example on the eyebrows and the upper lip.
DIODE 808 nm WAVELENGTH
The classic diode wavelength for hair removal of 808 nm offers a deep penetration into the hair root with high performance. Due to the lower absorption level in the melanin, the light is also suitable for darker skin types. It can penetrate deep into the hair root and is ideal for areas such as arms, legs, cheeks and beard line due to the medium depth of penetration.
YAG 1,064 NM WAVELENGTH
The Nd: YAG wavelength of 1,064 nm is characterised by a low absorption in melanin and is therefore the best solution for darker skin types. At the same time, this light penetrates deepest into the tissue and treats deep-lying hair, for example in the armpits or intimate areas.

| PAINLESS HAIR REMOVAL | This treatment involves shooting light pulses on the part of the body to be depilated using a wavelength spectrum matched to the skin and hair type. The light energy is immediately converted into heat by the melanin (pigment) in the hair. This is channelled along the shaft of the hair down to the root and the underlying germ cells. The thermal reaction here causes irreversible damage to the nutrient cells of the hair root – which are now unable to produce any more hairs. |
| VASCULAR | It is possible to treat this unattractive skin condition cosmetically. This is done by shooting a controlled light pulse onto the affected area. The light pulse is absorbed in the dark-red, oxygen-rich blood of the vessel by the haemoglobin and converted into heat. This causes a sudden heating of the vessel, which clots the blood and “welds” the vessel shut. The body’s lymphatic system breaks down the coagulated blood into its constituent parts and transports them away naturally. |
| SKIN REJUVENATION, TIGHTEN & TONE | The gentle treatment offered by the devices from Cosmedico Medical Systems stimulates the formation of new collagen fibres. This has a visible smoothing effect on lines. Light energy is converted into heat. | PIGMENTATION | Benign skin pigmentations can be treated very efficiently using SSR or IPL technology. This involves exposing excessive pigments to highly energetic intensive pulsed light. The light is absorbed by the melanin (the dark skin pigment in the skin) and converted into heat. The surrounding tissue is neither heated nor destroyed. The conversion of energy into heat causes the pigment to clot; the melanin flocculates and is “drawn” to the epidermis. The pigment change is shed bit by bit in the form of tiny skin flakes. |
| ACNE | Treating acne with SSR or IPL technology is all about fighting the propioni bacteria that cause the inflammation and reducing the size of the sebaceous glands and the quantity of sebum they produce. Porphyrins (naturally occurring molecules in the inflamed acne) absorb light in the blue wavelength spectrum. When porphyrins absorb light in this wavelength spectrum, heat is produced. The photothermal process releases chemical substances that are able to selectively destroy the propioni bacterium. |
